When the answer is NO!

We have all had a time or two or three or four where we have literally begged God for something. Sometimes it occurs when we are being selfish and not exercising self-control and sometimes it’s just when we think we know what is best for us. We let our emotions and desires override our intellect and the Holy Spirit within us. We create an opportunity instead of waiting for the opportunity that presents itself in God’s time and in His will. We rush in and say, “I want this and that and that!” We pray and beg and cry and beg some more and when we don’t get the house, car, job, or whatever we’re upset. If we’re honest with ourselves, we get angry with God and question Him. Talk back to Him with an attitude like, I really needed this job why didn’t you give it to me? I need a new car right now! God you know my situation why didn’t you do this? Why didn’t you give me that? Why did you tell me NO!?!

Did you ever think that God tells us no to protect us, to keep us out of harm’s way? To build our character, our faith, and trust in him? We may indeed need a job, a car, a house…We may indeed want that wife, husband whoever, but did you miss the red flags from the Holy Spirit? The one that says, “watch it he has a temper and will be physically abusive; or wait a minute; yes this job is paying more but it requires a large amount of time away from your family and your son is going to really need you soon.”

Never lose sight that God IS! He knows EVERYTHING. He has our best interest at heart and there is always a lesson to be learned. Paul asked God 3 times to remove the thorn from his flesh, and God told him NO. He said my grace is sufficient; my strength is made perfect in your weakness! WOW, what a lesson in trust!

He assures us that He knows what He’s doing. He knows what He has planned for us and sometimes to get us to where we’re supposed to be, God tells us no. Don’t be angry or discouraged about it. Allow Him to protect you, guide you, and prosper you the way He wants to so that it will last!

When the answer is NO, It just might be for our good!
