If you missed it on social media last week, one of Arkansas' biggest hometown success stories returned this summer with another powerful investment in the community.
While headlines centered on NBA superstar Stephen Curry's visit to Little Rock, the real story was Moses Moody's continued commitment to the state that helped shape him. Through his annual Motivate One Foundation Summer Series, the Little Rock native and Golden State Warriors champion once again transformed his homecoming into four days of service, mentorship and opportunity.
Held July 22-25, the Summer Series brought together community leaders, young people, business professionals and basketball fans through events designed to make a lasting impact beyond the court.
The week kicked off with a community food distribution at Watershed Family Resource Center, where groceries and household essentials were provided to hundreds of Arkansas families through a partnership with Convoy of Hope.
Young people also had the opportunity to participate in a youth golf clinic, introducing participants to the game while emphasizing confidence, mentorship and personal growth.
One of the weekend's marquee events was the Motivate One Foundation Charity Golf Tournament, which raised support for the Foundation's ongoing youth programming while bringing together sponsors, business leaders and supporters from across the country.
That evening, attendees gathered for "A Night with Moses Moody featuring Stephen Curry," an intimate fireside-style conversation where the two NBA champions discussed leadership, perseverance, basketball and the importance of giving back. The event also featured Oklahoma City Thunder guard Isaiah Joe as a special guest, adding another Arkansas success story to an already memorable evening.
The weekend concluded with a Youth Basketball Camp for aspiring athletes ages 12-15, followed by the Moses Moody Day Youth Summit, where young adults explored entrepreneurship, financial literacy, skilled trades and career opportunities through partnerships with Trades4Life and Be Pro Be Proud.
For Moody, the annual event has become much more than bringing celebrity athletes to Arkansas. It has become a platform for opening doors, creating experiences and exposing young people to opportunities they may not otherwise encounter.
And while Stephen Curry's appearance generated excitement across the state, it also highlighted something bigger: the respect Moody has earned among some of basketball's most recognizable names. Over the years, the Motivate One Foundation has welcomed guests including Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Rich Paul, each helping shine a national spotlight on Little Rock while supporting the Foundation's mission.
The Foundation also offered a limited number of sponsorship packages that included once-in-a-lifetime experiences, such as playing a round of golf alongside Moody and Curry and participating in exclusive VIP networking opportunities—all while helping fund future programming for Arkansas youth.
As Moses Moody's NBA career continues to grow, one thing remains consistent: he keeps coming home.
For Arkansas, that's the biggest win of all.
