WHAT:
LITTLE ROCK, AR — URBANE Magazine proudly presents its Inaugural Women of Worth & Men of Merit Recognition Luncheon, a celebration of excellence, purpose, and community leadership.
 
WHEN & WHERE:
Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at The Greens at North Hills, located at 7400 HWY 107 in Sherwood, Arkansas.
 
WHO:
Darlene “Goldi” Gaines, Founder and CEO of the Anti-Poverty Group, will be honored as the 2025 Woman of Worth. Arkansas State Representative Tara Shephard will deliver the keynote address, bringing her dynamic leadership and voice to an afternoon focused on uplift and impact. The event will be hosted by Kimberly M. Lee, with live entertainment by the smooth and soulful saxophonist Ricky Howard.
 
The program will also recognize the inaugural class of 2024 Women of Worth & Men of Merit including:

  • Sannecia Davis – Owner & Creative Director, BlessedGals & Fire on the Runway Arkansas Fashion Weekend

  • Destiny Haygood – Director of Communications + Marketing, The KKAC Organization

  • Charles Blake – Little Rock Market Executive, Southern Bancorp

  • Dametrice Fransha’ Anderson, D.D. – CEO, Arkansas State Independent Living Council

  • Dr. Michele Wise Wright, Ph.D. – Co-founder & Executive Director, National Organization of African Americans with Cystic Fibrosis

(Note: Inaugural class members Denise Richardson and Dr. Richard L. Moss will be honored in their absence.)
 
WHY:
This event marks a powerful moment for Arkansas—celebrating Black excellence, leadership, and community impact across the state. At a time when these aspects are too often under-celebrated, URBANE Magazine has created an intentional space to honor and uplift those shaping the culture and future of our communities, providing another platform where Black stories are seen, respected, and celebrated.
