The First Community Health Center in Arkansas Announces Exciting Rebranding Initiative
Dr. Kellee Mitchell - 07.24.2024
Lee County Cooperative Clinic has been a cornerstone of healthcare in Eastern Arkansas since 1969. LCCC is committed to providing accessible, compassionate, and comprehensive healthcare services to individuals and families, regardless of background or ability to pay. LCCC offers not only primary care services, but also dental, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology services, transportation, insurance enrollment, health education, and care management. LCCC currently has 4 locations in 3 counties and a mobile medical unit. LCCC is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center, a Federal Torts Claims Act Deemed Facility, and a recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home. LCCC’s mission is to provide excellent care and superior service at every interaction.
Lee County Cooperative Clinic (LCCC) is thrilled to unveil its new brand identity. Today, during the dedication ceremony for their new 20,000-square-foot facility, LCCC unveiled their rebranding including operating under the new DBA name Olly Neal Community Health Center. “This change reflects a commitment to evolving alongside the healthcare needs of a diverse community while maintaining the exceptional standards of care that our patients rely on”, said Dr. Kellee Mitchell Farris, CEO at LCCC.
"When LCCC was established in 1969, our mission was to improve the health outcomes of underserved residents in Lee County. Over the past 55 years, our service area has expanded to include St. Francis and Phillips County – with locations in both of those counties. As we seek to continue to expand our services to provide access to residents across Eastern Arkansas, we must be inclusive of all our clinical locations and reflective of the diverse communities we serve. Our new name embodies our dedication to innovation and inclusivity in healthcare delivery while still honoring where we started," said Dr. Farris. "As we transition to Olly Neal Community Health Center, we remain steadfast in our promise to provide compassionate, comprehensive healthcare services to all.”
Judge Olly Neal was the first administrator for LCCC when it was established in 1969. Judge Neal fought tirelessly alongside many community members to ensure that the doors of LCCC remained open for the underserved at a time when some in the community were fighting to keep those doors closed. Judge Neal went on to practice law in Marianna, become Arkansas’ first African American (District) Prosecuting Attorney, and be appointed to the Arkansas Court of Appeals where he served until his retirement in 2007. “In these 83 years, I’ve had some wonderful experiences and many honors, but this is the biggest honor”, said Judge Olly Neal. He went on to say, “
In conjunction with the DBA name change, LCCC will introduce a refreshed visual identity that aligns with our core values and vision for the future of healthcare. This includes a new logo and updated branding materials that symbolize our commitment to fostering wellness and community health.
“The rebranding of Olly Neal CHC pulls similar character from the previous LCCC logo, including the supporting hands, a health symbol that is a more contemporary medical symbol utilized over the traditional Greek symbol”, added Colby Mitchell, owner of Detail7, who created the logo and branding. According to Mitchell, the logo also retained the two shades of blue, and the O in Olly can stand alone as an emblem – presenting the feel of an “ON” button.
"We are excited about the opportunities that Olly Neal Community Health Center brings to deepen our connection with the community and expand access to vital healthcare resources," added Dr. Farris.
The rebranding process will be implemented gradually over the coming months, with a ribbon cutting for the new facility scheduled for July 24th. The full transition is expected to be completed by October 2024, when the Health Center will be celebrating its 55th anniversary. Throughout this period, Lee County Cooperative Clinic will continue to deliver the same exceptional care and support that patients have come to trust.
